Our next concert

Octavians are delighted to be performing in St Mary’s Horsell for the very first time, having previously sung on the streets of Horsell village at Christmas time!

We are also very happy to sing a wide variety of our favourite repertoire spanning 4 centuries of musical styles. There will be madrigals and some motets from 16th century composers such as Byrd, Tallis and Morley. We will also sing some church pieces by Romantic composers such as Grieg and Bruckner. For the 2nd half of the concert we will perform partsongs in German and English, including the ever-popular “Blue Bird” by Stanford. The concert will conclude with lighter, jazzy arrangements of popular songs such as Java Jive and Goodnight Sweetheart. There will also be a few solos and duets added into the mix, so there really is plenty for everyone to enjoy!

Established in 1987, the Octavian Singers have gained a justifiable reputation for achieving high musical standards and producing ambitious and popular musical events in Woking, Surrey and the surrounding areas.

Our repertoire includes a wide variety of music from baroque to 21st Century, madrigals to major choral works.
